FAQs

What happens at the first appointment?

1

You will be seen in your own home. Firstly we ask you questions about your condition and how it impacts on you. Some clients prefer a family or carer to assist with this. We will then assess how your arm, legs move , how strong they are and coordination. We usually need to have “hands on” in order to feel the movement of the joints /muscles to enable us to feel for stiffness. Obviously we will ask permission before we do this. We will also observe your ability to move around your home e.g standing up from a chair.

Generally the first appointment is mainly dedicated to the assessment process. We also support you to try and identify realistic goals you want to work towards. We will always aim to give you some recommendations and simple exercises by the end of the appointment. We will always be honest about how we can help and what is potentially achievable.

What should I wear?
